About this app

Sound Amplifier makes everyday conversations and surrounding sounds more accessible among people who are hard of hearing, using just your Android phone and a pair of headphones. Use Sound Amplifier to filter, augment and amplify sounds around you and on your device.

Features
• Reduce unwanted noise to recognise speech better.
• Focus on a speaker’s voice in noisy environments with conversation mode. (Available for Pixel 3 and above.)
• Listen to conversations, TV or lectures. For audio sources that are farther away, Bluetooth headphones are recommended. (Bluetooth headphones might have delayed sound transmission.)
• Personalise your listening experience for surrounding conversation or media playing on your device. You can reduce noise or boost low frequency, high frequency or quiet sounds. Set your preferences for both ears or separately for each ear.
• Turn Sound Amplifier on and off using the Accessibility button, a gesture or Quick Settings. Learn more about the Accessibility button, gesture and Quick Settings: https://support.google.com/accessibility/android/answer/7650693

Requirements
• Available for Android 8.1 and later.
• Pair your Android device with headphones.
• Conversation mode is currently available on Pixel 3 and above.

When my Android Motorolas screen cuts off or I lock it. Then it makes this choppy on and off sound. Please fix. I know this app is free and no ads pop up ,but I think it's made by Google... And it won't work without headphones, witch is why it's getting low ratings, even though you can use the microphone of the phone after you hook up some type of headphones first. Please fix to where you don't need headphones also. Thank you for the wonderful app. Enjoy coding. c=

I used this to amplify music volume through my Bluetooth speakers a while back. It used to work great.. It was clear, not noisy like some equalizer boosts will do, it just amplified the music, worked amazingly well & made a notable difference.. I had left it enabled, I guess it background updated & I noticed recently my speakers were playing quiet, so I checked back to make sure this was turned on and it's disabled, now it will only look for smart headphones-Wireless or wired, & will not turn on

It does seem to work somewhat. Nice feature that you can adjust both left and right sound levels independently or together. The problem lies in the fact that the app freezes and then just shuts down randomly. Tried to listen on headphones to a 1h20min. movie and the app crashed 4 times. Developers are on the right track but haven't quite got this application ready for prime time yet.
