About this app

What if šŸ‡ØšŸ‡³ Mandarin Chinese language learning would be a crazy fun game instead of the usual memorization drills? With Drops, it’s an effortless and fun learning Chinese experience with practical vocabulary that sticks to your memory with its catchy graphics, and quick mini-games.

The crazy part? It only takes 5 minutes a day to practice Chinese vocabulary. Sounds counter productive but it works like a charm! :)

These are the ingredients of our secret sauce:

šŸ‘€ 100% illustrated: Images instantly carry a meaning - there’s no need to use your native language at all! Nothing in the middle to get you second guessing. It’s faster, effective, and definitely more fun for daily Mandarin Chinese language learning! :)

šŸŽ 5 min sessions: Limited time for practice sounds crazy but that’s what makes it incredibly addictive – which is a cool thing for learning Chinese words. There’s close to zero barrier entry for reasons not to learn. You’ll have no excuses even on the busiest day!

šŸ•¹ Effortless play: Games are addictive and fun, and we distilled these as the essence of Drops. The end result? A truly immersive Mandarin Chinese language learning experience that is not a waste of time since while you are playing you are also building a valuable knowledge in language.

⚔Quick: Keyboarding typing is slow. With Drops, taps and rapid swipes is all you need for learning Chinese. Trust us, those extra seconds are handy during the game learning session. ;)

šŸŽÆ Vocabulary only: No grammar, just curated practical words. These two are our focus and we do it pretty well! The Drops app teaches Cantonese and Mandarin too!

šŸ’Forge a habit: We want to make you an addict to language learning. An established habit + an effective method is what works with Mandarin Chinese language! And this is the combo that Drops helps you build!

We are proud of our beautiful word pronunciations from our professional voice talents!

Drops is free to use for casual learners with 99 topics, and 1700 Chinese words to choose from. Hardcore language learners can opt-in for our premium plans with unlimited learning time and to progress faster. Susbscription plans start from $2.99 per month.

šŸŒ Empowering people through Chinese language knowledge is our goal, with Drops as a special tool that uses a universal language that we can all speak: pictures!

I like how they make learning fun! Only 1 really big issue is that a lot of the pictures don't say what they are and have to guess, for example: is it a shirt or sweater or maybe even a coat? Very very good that the app uses repetition because 1 word might take me a 100 times or even saying it 1,000 times just to get it stuck in my memory permanently.

As an aspiring linguist I need to start somewhere and this program breaks a fairly complex language into more simple parts and makes it more fun to learn than in a class room with a text book and a teacher only allowing the studied language ... point being it's an individual program and if gives u 5 minute lessons whenever you want them and it will correct your errors and praise your growth plus there is a free base version and if you want there is the option of premium they don't push it

I like the writing lessons, but you should probably focus on the most commonly used hanzi first... wo, ni, qu, le, kan, chi, nan, zi, li... The seasons lesson is a drag with uncommon words. Not suitable for beginners. Why do I need to learn about summer equinox? I never used this in other languages and probably will forget it right away. Butternut squash? Cornucopia? What does this even mean?
