Unlike some other games of this developer (ENYO, which is GOAT, and normal, non-adventurous Card Crawl, which is good passtime), this game is completely unintelligible. This is mainly due to the incomplete tutorial in which not all icons and not all in-game-context terms are explained. A general idea behind the game is painted and *some* specifics are explained, but many details remain a mystery. However, it's not offensively bad, there're no intrusive ads and the artwork is great

Arnold Rauers is a very talented and creative guy. I love his games too death, but my favorite is Card Thief. This game's mechanics are similar is many ways to the aforementioned, but much more confusing in their presentation. I don't mind complexity and maybe I am missing something, but I am unable to feel the same level of tactical control I do with his other games.

Not a very accessible game despite the well-meaning tutorial. Eventually, it becomes a matter of tracing your way by trial and error, seeing which paths damage you or leave you intact. In some respect, this planning ahead your path feels strategic but ultimately feels like cheating. The decision space is limited and unrewarding, unlike Krumit's Tale which gives you so many options to do and actually lets you experience the consequences of each of your moves without the spoilers of what's ahead.
